If you don't know what a US Marine and the word "silkies" have to do with each other then, picture a Marine in the shortest green polyester shorts you can think of. Those shorts are what US Marines perform their daily PT (physical training) in. They are silky and comfortable to wear, while at the same time being uncomfortable to look at. It can be a disturbing google search.
If you didn't already know, Mr. here at Gallery Meadows Farm is a Marine Veteran and proudly wore his silkies, much to Mrs.'s enjoyment, entertainment, and horror. But why am I telling you this? Well... the silkies are here again. Only this time it's a bit different.
On Sunday we went on a road trip to bring back to the farm a young flock of chickens. The chicken's breed are called silkies. Once again, Mr. loves his silkies. These have to be the cutest chickens Mr. has ever seen. Silky smooth and soft, super friendly, and just plain adorable. They were moved into their new coop and so far loving it.

We also brought home (10) quail chicks and a new male breeder rabbit. The quail are about the size of half a thumb. They are also super cute and very fragile. A small nursery has been setup for these babies, and Mrs. is employing her NICU knowledge to ensure they mature properly. Amazingly, in 6 weeks they should be laying eggs. Of course, that's assuming they aren't all males.

Mrs. has a request out for the naming of the bunny. We only name the Breeder Stock. He has joined the likes of Millie, Ester, and Mr. Quickie. Side note, Mr. Quickie was not impressed knowing he will have to share his duties now.
